First Tirich Mir expedition departs July 13 as KP promotes adventure tourism

Provincial Government waives royalty fees, partners with Italian expert to establish adventure training school

The first group of Tirich Mir Base Camp, the highest peak of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, will depart from Chitral on July 13th. The provincial government is taking prioritized actions to promote adventure tourism. Chitral tourism will increase through the Tirich Mir Summit. Director General Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority Habibullah Arif expressed these thoughts during a press conference.

DG Tourism Authority, Habibullah Arif, while talking to the media in the conference hall of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority, said that the people were invited to market the highest peak of the Hindukush mountain range. More than 500 males and 100+ female trackers applied for this program.

According to the instructions of  Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Ameen Gandapur, different activities are arranged to promote tourism in the province.

Along with a professor from Italy, Pinelli, the provincial government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). Soon, they are going to lay the foundation of an adventure training school in which men and women will be provided the required training. The second group for Tirich Mir Base Camp will depart in the last week of July, and the third group will leave in the first week of August. Local porters have been added to the Tirich Mir Summit, which will directly benefit the local community. The provincial government has announced to end of the royalty fees for the year 2025-26, which is around $2500-$4000. This step of the provincial government will not only benefit Chitral and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa but also the economy of Pakistan.
